The Marais is certainly my favorite neighborhood... to stroll around, stroll around every day of the week, because it is one of the few places in Paris that is open even on Sundays (we are in France, however!). Beyond the busy main roads of Rue des Francs-Bourgeois or Rue Vieille du Temple or Rue des Archives, you have to get lost in the adjacent streets to discover countless small designer boutiques, confidential brands, charming cafés or trendy addresses.

I'm going to have a coffee at the Vélo Café, run by American and New Zealand friends who love cycling (!) who have been organizing tours in Paris for almost 20 years and who opened this very nice shop just before Covid.
For a more “classy” moment, I'm going to enjoy a tea at Ogata among the multitude of Japanese teas they offer.

For lunch, the Butcher of Paris at the Marché des Enfants Rouges offers fresh products and a fine selection of natural wines in a very friendly atmosphere on a corner table.

In the afternoon, I go to Ô Chateau in the 1st arrondissement to taste wines while being guided by the sommelier among the 50 that they offer every day by the glass... unless I let myself be tempted by one of their 1500 references. If I had to recommend experiences not to be missed on this day, it would be the beef & wine tasting at Ô Chateau, absolutely divine, or right next door a French pairing workshop: gins, whiskeys and chocolates.

For dinner, I love going to Substance for a Michelin-starred meal in a friendly atmosphere, but while it's a great occasion, the David Toutain restaurant is still my best dining experience in recent months.

To end the evening on a high note, I end with a cocktail at the Shangri-La bar in the 16th arrondissement, which is among the best in Paris.
