My day starts in a Parisian passage that I love: the Passage des Panoramas. I love its ambiance, with its old shops and artisans. I stop for a coffee at the Certified Café Panoramas, where the coffee is really great. Then, I stroll quietly to Square Louvois to enjoy it in peace and quiet and start the day gently.
Then head to the Caves du Louvre for a cheese tasting and improbable pairings. We discover wine, of course, but also more unexpected associations with mead or sparkling rhubarb. As a wine and spirits lover, I love these kinds of original discoveries.
The neighborhood is full of good places to have lunch. One of my favorites: Mamatchai, a Vietnamese restaurant that offers delicious bò bún.
In the afternoon, there is no need to go very far: I go to the Arbre Sec distillery, on the same street as the Caves du Louvre, for a spirits tasting. It is a whiskey, gin and chocolate pairing workshop in partnership with Edwart Chocolatier, a Parisian house. The place is definitely worth a visit!
To digest all this, nothing better than a stroll through the streets of Paris. I particularly like Montorgueil Street, full of life and food shops. I often do a few errands there. A stone's throw away, I stop at La Maison du Whisky, rue Tiquetonne. They have a great selection of spirits: I like to find new ones there.
I continue my walk by getting lost in Passage Brady, a small piece of India in the middle of Paris, with a totally different atmosphere. But this walk has a purpose: I am heading to the Parisian Cocktail Club, in the 9th arrondissement, to participate in a mixology workshop. An interactive experience, ideal for learning how to make cocktails at home and bluffing my friends!

If I had to talk about my favorite place in Paris: the 18th where I live. There is always something to see, to do, to discover... or to drink (we'll be back).
Obviously, you know Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur (hello tourists who turn every walk into a sporting achievement), but what I like above all is the atmosphere of the small sloping streets, like Rue des Abbesses or Rue Lepic. I love to get lost (voluntarily), stumble upon a nice shop, or sit on the terrace with a drink in hand and the feeling of being on vacation.
I often recommend the Montmartre Museum. An arty version of time machine: we discover bohemia, painters, poets... And to extend the journey through time, a mandatory stop at Studio 28: it is the oldest cinema in Paris. It's like being in a black and white movie, but with comfortable armchairs.
Impossible not to talk about wine so head to the Cave des Abbesses: a real gem to find a good bottle. And if you want to shine in the evening with an anecdote: there are vineyards in the neighborhood! Clos Montmartre is a small vine hidden behind the Sacré-Coeur, not the best wine in the world but a nod to the wine history of the city. And a great excuse for a stroll.
The 18th is a happy mix of history, neighborhood life and good things to drink. A small village in the city that always surprises me...
